Christmas Time is Here
Well, here we are in the week before Christmas 2020. Despite the chaos and uncertainty of the year, the holidays came quickly. I hope everyone is ready for the holidays. This year’s Christmas traditions will look different for all of us. We will miss our Christmas Eve together with my parents, my girl’s Nana, and aunts, uncles, and cousins. But my girls and I plan to begin a new tradition on Christmas eve of making pasta for us to enjoy on Christmas Day.
At this time of the year, I love to look back and remember the traditions of Christmas past and cherish those memories that were made. When I was young, some of my fondest memories were going to my best friend’s parents’ house on Christmas Eve and staying there until well after midnight. It was a tradition that we celebrated for years. Then the big Christmas dinners at my Nana’s house with a full turkey dinner with all of the trimmings and the full Italian dinner with lasagna, meatballs, sauce, and Ricotta cheese pie. Even though my girls are older now the excitement of Christmas morning still holds strong in our house, and it is the excitement and spirit that can help us all get through this different looking holiday season.
Though we may not be able to be with all of our loved ones in person this year, we can create new memories that we can blend into our future holiday traditions.
I wish all who celebrate a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays.
