Generally, the answer to this question is no. On most travel insurance policies, an epidemic is included under the general exclusions of the policy. Since the Coronavirus, Covid-19, was deemed an epidemic by the CDC, it is not a covered reason for cancellation. If you purchased a Cancel for Any Reason travel insurance policy, these policies have additional endorsements that may provide a benefit up to a certain percentage of the cost of the trip. Please be advised I am not a licensed insurance provider and can only offer advice on what the policy states and coverage is always up to the underwriting of the travel insurance company. If you have any questions on what your travel insurance policy covers, it is best to be in contact with the travel insurance provider directly.
It is always recommended you review the travel insurance quote to understand what may be covered in the event you have to cancel your trip. Share the knowledge
